The 2nd International Conference on Food and Agricultural Sciences (ICFAS) 2023: Innovations and Future Technologies in Sustainable Food and Agriculture Amid Climate Change

From December 12-14, 2023, the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indonesian Biotechnology Consortium (KBI) collaborated with several universities to organize the 2nd International Conference on Food and Agricultural Sciences (ICFAS).

The event, held at the Grand Rohan Hotel in Yogyakarta, took place in a hybrid format, combining both virtual and in-person participation. The conference theme, “Innovations and Future Technologies in Sustainable Food and Agriculture Amid Climate Change,” attracted researchers, scientists, professors, engineers, students, and practitioners interested in cutting-edge technologies related to agriculture and food.

Key topics discussed during ICFAS included food processing technologies, pre- and post-harvest technologies, food safety and nutrition, climate change, smart agriculture, and agricultural supply chain systems.

Mr. Mastur, Ph.D as the President of KBI delivered a welcome address during the conference opening. He emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving food security amidst the challenges posed by climate change.

The conference agenda featured keynote presentations, scientific paper sessions by participants, and panel discussions on current issues in agriculture and food. ICFAS 2023 attracted 300 participants and presenters from the USA, Poland, Italy, Australia, Japan, South Korea, China, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia, representing researchers, academics, industry professionals, and students.

Through the organization of ICFAS 2023, KBI reaffirmed its commitment to advancing knowledge dissemination, breakthroughs, and innovation through research, development, studies, and practical implementation to enhance the agricultural and food production sector.
