Malang, September 11, 2024 – The 2024 KBI Congress, held at the Ruang Lontar 2, Hotel Santika Malang, marked a significant turning point for the organization. The event, which took place both offline and online via ZOOM, saw the culmination of a three-year journey under the leadership of Mastur, Ph.D., and the ushering in of a new era under Wahyu Purbowasisto, the newly elected president.

The congress kicked off with a comprehensive accountability report presented by Mastur, Ph.D., and KBI PR Coordinator Sara Wijayanti, highlighting the organization’s achievements and activities during the 2021-2024 period. This was followed by lively discussions on key strategic topics, including the expansion of KBI membership to include individual members alongside existing institutional members, and the development of a masterplan for KBI’s future growth. The congress also saw a revision of KBI’s vision, mission, articles of association, and bylaws, setting the stage for a dynamic future.

A crucial moment arrived with the nomination of five candidates for the KBI presidency for the 2024-2027 term as follows

The congress concluded with a sense of optimism and anticipation for the future. The newly elected president, Wahyu Purbowasisto, will officially assume his role in November 2024, leading the formation of a new management team for the 2024-2027 period.
